Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Supervision
Advanced Diploma in Embodied-Relational Therapy

Welcome to the SJ Therapy website based in the Brooke Centre just a short walk from Rugby town centre.

I offer an integrative approach to counselling and psychotherapy with over fifteen years experience as an Integrative Psychotherapist and over ten years in supervision and training. In my private practice I see adult clients for short and longer-term counselling and psychotherapy.

People will seek therapy in times of difficulty and stress, when their ability to manage their emotional life, profession and relationships is stretched and possibly in crisis. Some may have experienced trauma and have been completely overwhelmed.
As an integrative psychotherapist and counsellor, I adapt my approach to the needs of my clients, drawing on a variety of perspectives to explore within a confidential and safe setting, what may impede and promote their progress.

I hold a BA(Hons) in Social Anthropology and S. E. Asian Studies (1986), a Post Graduate Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy (2004) and Clinical Supervision (2009) and am a registered member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).

I hold an Advanced Diploma in Embodied Relational Therapy (2006), placing value on body orientated perspectives in recognition that emotional difficulties are often expressed in the body as tension and lack of energy and motivation, for example. This duel focus allows the body as well as the mind to be involved in the therapy.

I have levels I, II & III in Eye Movement, Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) a technique developed for working with those who have experienced trauma.

I work with a wide range of issues including:

Relationship difficulties
The effects of abuse
Bereavement and loss
The impact of physical health on emotional health
Life changes and transitions
Work related issues
Self-confidence and self-esteem
Self Development.
